In cooperation with Eastman Naia™, of which we are the first alpha partner in Turkey, we carried out projects on "Turning Acetate Fiber into Yarn with Short Fiber Spinning Technology and Soft Touch, Antipilling and Multifunctional Development of Antistatic Properties for Woven-Knitted Fabrics", which is a first for our country, within the scope of "1501-TUBITAK Industry R&D Projects Support Program". In addition, we have an equity project called “Development of Low Cost Moisture Absorbing Soft and Glossy Yarns” that we realized with Open-End technology.
Features
Naia™ cellulosic acetate fiber with full traceability from wood to fiber is manufactured in the USA by Eastman Company.
Naia™ cellulosic acetate fiber;
- The closed-loop manufacturing process allows safe solvents to be recycled and reused, resulting in fiber with a low environmental impact.
- It is obtained by acidifying the cellulose raw material obtained from wood and cotton fibers, dissolving acetyl cellulose and spraying the solution. This raw material, also known as rayon, has become the favorite fiber of fashion and designers in the textile industry today. In addition, the low wet and dry strength values (1.5-2 gr/denier) enable this fiber to be used more as a texturized fiber.
- Innovative, sustainable, silky softness, fast drying feature, unique touch, antipilling (in the fabric it is in) etc. It can be used as a raw material in the manufacture of high value-added products.
- Thanks to different blending options, it also provides diversity in production.
Innovations Brought to the Textile Industry
Traditional fashion industry; It is responsible for 20% of water pollution, 35% of microplastic pollution in the oceans and 10% of global carbon emissions. While the effects of the fashion industry on the environment are so high, with the introduction of acetate fiber into short fiber technology;
- Decreased use of petroleum-derived synthetic fibers (polyester, acrylic, polyamide, etc.)
- Bringing soft-touch, silky-handed, quick-drying, static-free and non-pilling yarns to all sectors
- Reducing your energy costs due to the drying properties of acetate at low temperatures
- Reducing your energy costs due to the drying properties of acetate at low temperatures
- Obtaining the muline effect with a single dyeing (disperse or reactive) in fabric constructions and towels, yarns produced with a mixture of Naia™ and other raw materials
is provided.
Blending Options
As Karacasu Tekstil, what: 3/1-40/1 scale; We also produce yarns with other fibers such as Recycled Polyester, Lycocell, Modal, Viscose, Cotton, Hemp and Linen or in special compositions in line with the requests of our customers. At the same time, we can make multiple layers of these yarns in the folding/twisting machines of these blends.
